Perry Marshall has an interesting post that deals with the tactical triangle and the 80/20 rule. Tactical triangle encompasses three states of selling, conversions, economics, and traffic with the 80/20 rule in the middle.

The method he recommends for looking at this tool is counterclockwise, traffic, economics and finally conversions. In other words, find an audience, figure out how to get to them affordable, and finally how to get them to buy.
Interestingly inside each of these components to the triangle is another set of triangles. For instance in gaining traffic one would in most cases be using Adwords. Within the process of PPC itself you have a triangle manifested in the cost, conversions, and volume that in entails. All this wrapped up in it’s own 80/20 rule.
In essence this simple but powerful concept can be applied to all areas of your business.
